Five Milton Keynes takeaways and restaurants are among 283 British Kebab Awards finalists, from Wolverton to Bletchley. Who they are and how to vote.

Five Milton Keynes businesses have reached the final of the British Kebab Awards. Three of them are up for the same prize, Best Takeaway in the South of England.

The organisers named 283 finalists across 22 categories on Wednesday 21 October, in a press release on the awards’ website. Winners will be announced at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel in London on Tuesday 23 February 2027.

The official finalists list gives these five businesses with MK addresses:

Addresses are as the awards list gives them. The hygiene ratings come from the Food Standards Agency register, which we checked on 24 October. The month shown is when each business was last inspected and rated.

Three MK takeaways in one regional category is a strong showing. That category covers the whole of the south of England and has finalists from Bristol, Brighton, Dover and Torquay, among others.

How the finalists were chosen

The organisers say the finalists came from a semi-final field of almost 500 businesses. That field was built from more than 6,000 nominations and over 40,000 public votes.

The final list was picked by combining the public vote with an independent panel’s assessment. The press release says food hygiene standards were part of that assessment. The panel met in London this month.

The judges named in the release include:

  • Jonathan Reynolds MP and Dawn Butler MP
  • Nadhim Zahawi and Sir Gavin Williamson MP
  • Sir Andy Cooke
  • Kate Nicholls of UKHospitality
  • Rory Sutherland and Sam McAlister

The awards are in their 15th year. The first dinner was held in 2013.
