A man in his twenties is in a critical condition in hospital after a serious assault in Central Milton Keynes in the early hours of Sunday.
Thames Valley Police issued an appeal for witnesses and footage at 12.30pm. Officers want to hear from anyone who was around Midsummer Boulevard and The Hub between 1am and 2am.
What the police have said
The force has published these details:
- South Central Ambulance Service called officers shortly after 1.50am on Sunday 1 November.
- The report was that a man in his twenties had been assaulted in Midsummer Boulevard.
- He suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition.
- Detectives are carrying out what the force calls “a number of fast-time enquiries” to establish what happened and identify those responsible.
The force has not reported any arrests. It has not said how the man was hurt.
Detective Inspector Luke Pratt said in the force’s statement:
“We understand that news of this incident will be concerning for local residents, businesses and those who were in Milton Keynes city centre overnight.
“Our thoughts are with the victim and his loved ones at this extremely difficult time.”
Extra police around The Hub
The force says people will continue to see more officers in and around The Hub while the investigation goes on. Neighbourhood officers are in the area to offer reassurance. DI Pratt encouraged anyone with concerns to speak to them.
What the area’s crime figures show
The latest published police.uk data runs to August 2026, so it does not cover this incident. It does give a picture of the area.
Across January to August 2026, police recorded 98 violence and sexual offences in an area of about 550 by 550 metres centred on The Hub. That is an average of about 12 a month. The highest month was August, with 17. The lowest was June, with 7. These are our own counts from the police.uk street-level data, which maps each crime to the nearest of a set of anonymised points rather than an exact address.
What it means for you
