Milton Keynes Fireworks: Wolverton Road Closures Out

Four firework displays in Milton Keynes now have 2026 dates. Olney goes first on Sunday 1 November, Wolverton’s free display is on Bonfire Night itself, Thursday 5 November, Newport Pagnell’s follows on Friday 6 November, and Gulliver’s Land fires its display on Saturday 7 November. The big ticketed show at the National Bowl has still published nothing for 2026.

Updated 18 October: Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council has published its road closure list: 25 closure points, including the length of Great Monks Street (V5) from Stratford Road to Hodge Lea roundabout. Full list below.

Updated 17 October: Newport Pagnell’s gates open at 5.30pm, the town council’s diary now says. Wolverton’s road closure list is still unpublished: no fireworks order was in the council’s 15 October batch of traffic notices. Olney’s ticket prices and a 2026 SkyFest date are still to be announced.

Updated 3 October: Olney’s date and times added (Sunday 1 November, 4.30pm to 9pm), Gulliver’s Land display added (7 November), and Wolverton’s council now says there is no event parking and roads around the site will be closed.

Bonfire Night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November.

Milton Keynes City Council does not run a display. Everything below comes from the organisers’ own published pages, and where a 2026 detail has not been published this page says so rather than filling the gap.

Olney: Sunday 1 November, 4.30pm to 9pm

The Olney town display is on Sunday 1 November 2026, from 4.30pm to 9pm, at Olney Recreation Ground (the sports fields), off East Street, MK46 4DW. That date and those times come from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, which lists the display among the community events it is attending, with a fire engine on show. It describes the evening as a fireworks display with food and drink stalls, a licensed bar and children’s attractions. (Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service)

The display is organised by The Olney Group (TOG). Olney Town Council’s own event page still shows the 2024 date, Sunday 3 November 2024, and describes the rule as “the nearest Sunday to 5th November”. (Olney Town Council, town fireworks) With Bonfire Night on a Thursday this year, the display has gone to the Sunday before rather than the Sunday after. Neither the council nor TOG has published ticket prices for 2026, so check before you go.

Wolverton: Thursday 5 November, free, confirmed

Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council has fixed its display for Thursday 5 November 2026 at Western Road Recreational Ground. Its own event page gives the date as 05/11/2026, the event window as 18:00 to 20:00 with the main display at 6.30pm, entry as free, and booking as none. (Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council)

Since this page was first written, the council has added the detail. Fantastic Fireworks is the contractor again, the display is set to music, and there will be stalls, food vendors, children’s games and rides. There is no event parking. The council says “a large number of road closures” will stop vehicles getting near the site, access inside them will be strictly limited, and buses will keep running through the closure points. People who live inside the closures must show proof of address, such as a driving licence, a utility bill or a council tax statement, to get to and from their homes. The council asks everyone else to walk or use public transport.

Wolverton road closures

The town council’s event page now lists the confirmed closures. It gives no start and finish times for them, so expect them to be in place for the evening of 5 November. (Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council)

• Great Monks Street (V5), closed along its length from the roundabout at Stratford Road up to Hodge Lea roundabout.
• Windsor Street, closed at its junction with Stratford Road, and the junctions of Church Street, Western Road and Furze Way onto Windsor Street.
• Stratford Road junctions with Jersey Road, Anson Road, McCorquodale Road, Christchurch Grove, Wodell Drive, Trinity Road, Harnett Drive and Quarterly Grove.
• Old Wolverton Road junctions with Trinity Road, Longville, Empress Matilda Gardens and King Stephen Meadows.
• Greenleys roundabout, at the junctions of Addington Avenue and Ridgeway.
• Junctions onto Great Monks Street from Wilkinson Crescent, Field Lane, Greenleys Lane and Gloucester Road, plus Marron Lane at Gloucester Road.
• Every alleyway leading from Stratford Road into Victorian Wolverton, west of Windsor Street.

Newport Pagnell: Friday 6 November, Riverside Meadow

Newport Pagnell Town Council’s town diary lists Newport Pagnell Fireworks on Friday 6 November 2026 at Riverside Meadow. Since 17 October it has said gates open at 5.30pm; the time of the display itself is not given. (Newport Pagnell Town Council, what’s on)

The council’s own history page explains what the event is: the town had an annual November display for many years, it lapsed in the early 1990s, and Town Councillor Mark Lombardo revived it in 2017 at Riverside Meadow. Detailed listings are published on the Newport Pagnell Fireworks Facebook page rather than the council website, which is where the start time and any ticket arrangement will appear. In 2025 the display ran on Friday 7 November with food vendors ahead of the show, so a similar early evening shape is likely, but nothing about 2026 timings is confirmed yet.

Gulliver’s Land: Saturday 7 November, with a park ticket

Gulliver’s Land in Newlands runs a Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday 7 November 2026. The theme park stays open late, from 10.30am to 6.30pm, with selected rides open until 6pm and the fireworks at about 6.15pm. The display is free to anyone already in the park, so you need a theme park ticket for the day; it is not a separate fireworks-only event. SkyFest FireworX at the National Bowl: nothing announced for 2026

The largest paid display in the city in 2025 was SkyFest presents FireworX, billed as a 360 degree show of fireworks, drones, lasers and live music inside the National Bowl, Watling Street, MK5 8AA.

As at 18 October 2026, skyfest.co.uk describes the event but carries no 2026 date at all, and its own ticket shop still shows the 2025 event, dated 1 November 2025, 4pm to 10pm, with every ticket type marked “Sale Ended”. (SkyFest · SkyFest tickets)

Tickets for the 2025 event went on sale at the start of October. On 3 October 2026 there was still no announcement and no 2026 ticket listing, which is later than last year; a show could still be added, but nothing suggests one yet.

Campbell Park: the page that ranks is twelve years old

Searches for Milton Keynes fireworks still turn up a Fireworks Display page on the CMK Town Council website, complete with a full schedule of Campbell Park road closures on Avebury Boulevard, Silbury Boulevard, Midsummer Boulevard, Skeldon Gate, Enmore Gate and Marlborough Gate, and 30mph limits on the H5, H6, V8 and V10.

That page is dated Sunday 2 November 2014 and is marked “This event has passed”. The town council’s current events list, covering 15 September to 8 December 2026, contains only town council and planning committee meetings and no display of any kind. If you remember the Keith Emmett and Sons display at Campbell Park, that is the event those closures belong to. There is no Campbell Park display in the published calendar for 2026.

Milton Keynes Village: not on this year’s list

Milton Keynes Village ran a free display on the field between Middleton Pavilion and the Village Hall in November 2025. The Village Hall’s published community event calendar for 2026 runs to a lantern making workshop on 4 October, an All Saints Church Christmas Fayre on 14 November and a lantern parade on 6 December, and it lists no fireworks night. There is no event parking, and residents inside the closures need proof of address. The detailed Campbell Park closure list that circulates online belongs to a 2014 display and does not apply.

Getting there and parking

Only Gulliver’s Land has its own free car park. The town displays are best reached on foot.

• Western Road Recreational Ground, Wolverton. The recreation ground is surrounded by terraced streets with residents’ parking pressure. The council says there is no event parking, and Great Monks Street and the Stratford Road side streets will be closed. Wolverton railway station is a short walk away, and buses run as normal through the closure points.
• Olney Recreation Ground, off East Street. No parking arrangements for the display have been published.
• Gulliver’s Land, Newlands, MK15 0DT. Free parking on site for park visitors.
• Riverside Meadow, Newport Pagnell. The meadow sits behind the High Street by the Great Ouse. The town’s High Street and Cannon Street car parks are the usual arrival points and fill early on event nights.
