MK Remembrance Sunday: 8 November Parade Times

Remembrance Sunday 2026 falls on Sunday 8 November, and two Milton Keynes towns have published their times: Wolverton’s Act of Remembrance is at 10.55am on The Square, and Stony Stratford’s service at the Horsefair Green war memorial begins at 3pm. Armistice Day is Wednesday 11 November, when the Parks Trust holds its annual service and silence at the MK Rose in Campbell Park.

Milton Keynes City Council does not publish a city-wide list. Its armed forces page asks organisers to email their events in rather than setting out a programme, and as at 5 September it carried no 2026 remembrance dates. (Milton Keynes City Council)

Wolverton: Sunday 8 November, service at 10am

Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council has published its arrangements in full.

• 10am, Service of Remembrance at St George the Martyr, Wolverton.
• The parade follows the service, from the church to The Square.
• 10.55am, the Act of Remembrance in The Square, Wolverton.

Wolverton Town Band is supporting the event. The parade includes Buckinghamshire (The Rifles) ACF, TS Whaddon-Milton Keynes Sea and Royal Marine Cadets, St John Ambulance Wolverton All Service Unit, Wolverton Freemasons, RAF Air Cadets, 1st Wolverton Brownies and 1st Wolverton Scouts, with further participants to be confirmed. One thing to check on the morning. The council’s event summary box gives 10.45 for The Square while the description of the day gives 10.55 for the Act of Remembrance itself. Arriving for 10.45 covers both.

Stony Stratford: Sunday 8 November, service at 3pm

Stony Stratford’s parade is an afternoon event, which surprises people who assume every service is at 11am. The town council confirms the 2026 Remembrance Sunday Parade for Sunday 8 November, organised by The MK Lions at the war memorial on Horsefair Green, with the service beginning at 3pm.

The youth uniformed organisations parade from the back of the Cock Hotel, down the High Street, to the war memorial. The Rector of St Mary and St Giles C of E Church officiates. Wreaths are laid by Milton Keynes City Council, Stony Stratford Town Council, ex-servicemen’s organisations, the Rotary and Lions clubs, uniformed youth groups and the RAOB, and there is a collection for the Royal British Legion poppy fund. The MK Rose, Campbell Park: Wednesday 11 November, 10.45am

The Parks Trust holds the city’s Armistice Day service at the MK Rose in Campbell Park, and it has confirmed the 2026 date: Wednesday 11 November, 10.45am to 11.15am, free and suitable for all ages.

There is a silence at 11am, followed by wreath laying to commemorate the end of the First World War. The Trust asks people to arrive around 10.45am, in time to see the procession of the uniformed services. (The Parks Trust)

The MK Rose is the ring of stone and slate pillars on the ridge in Campbell Park, a few minutes’ walk from the Theatre District. Note that this is the Armistice Day service on the 11th, not a Remembrance Sunday service on the 8th.

Elsewhere in Milton Keynes: not yet published

Several towns hold their own parades but had published nothing for 2026 when this page was written.

• Newport Pagnell. The town council’s diary lists the fireworks on 6 November and the Christmas lights switch-on on 28 November, and no remembrance event. (Newport Pagnell Town Council)

Church and Royal British Legion branch services are usually fixed in October, so expect these to appear in the next few weeks.

No 2026 traffic orders have been published. Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council has obtained temporary closures for its parade in past years, and the Wolverton and Stony Stratford parades both use short stretches of town centre street.

Getting there and parking

• The Square, Wolverton. No event parking is announced. Wolverton station is a short walk from The Square, and the terraced streets around it fill early.
• Horsefair Green, Stony Stratford. The town’s car parks are small. A 3pm service in November means arriving in daylight and leaving in the dark.
• MK Rose, Campbell Park. The nearest parking is in Central Milton Keynes, and the walk from the Theatre District takes a few minutes. Campbell Park’s own car park off Avebury Boulevard is the closest.

Central Milton Keynes parking is payable 7am to 6pm every day, Sundays included, so a Sunday morning or a Wednesday morning service is both inside the paid window. Our parking in Milton Keynes page has the tariffs.

Check Milton Keynes roadworks and travel if you are crossing the city, particularly around Bletchley where Lomond Drive is shut round the clock into October.
